BRIAN “PIGMAN” QUACA @ TEXAS ARCHERY – 8/4/17 – SPRING, TX

Made it over to Texas Archery last night and got to meet Brian “Pigman” Quaca.  I hung out for about an hour just soaking everything in before I actually approached him, and during this time I was able see that he is genuinely a good ole boy who loves hunting, youth, AND story telling.

When I first arrived he was giving pointers to a young lady who was getting in some practice shots on the 20 yard range.  You could tell from the way he spoke to her, and the praise that he was giving her, that he was excited that she had a want to learn, and he was going to do everything possible to help nourish her enthusiasm for the sport.  I don’t know if this young lady is a hunter, but if so, I feel that the 30 minutes that he dedicated to her meant a lot.  Hopefully we’ll see her on her own hunting show one day.

Next I just hung around listening to Pigman’s stories, and boy can he tell them.  He has the perfect voice, his eyes light up, and his hands draw you the picture of the story he is telling.  You can actually see that GIANT hog busting out of the bushes rushing towards him, and you can hear the pow…pow…pow…pow from the multiple shots taken when he tells you about his helicopter hunts where he was able to kill hundreds of hogs in an effort to help keep their overwhelming Texas populations under control.

Finally I got to meet “Pigman”.  Will Chambers, owner of Texas Archery, (and awesome guy) took me over for an introduction.  We talked for a few moments, I got signatures, got embarrassed.  Below you will see a picture of “Pigman” and me.  My mouth is open because this question was asked as the picture was being taken: “Pigman, where’s your hand?”  Let me say this was no Taylor Swift vs. David Mueller / David Mueller vs. Taylor Swift situation, his hand was definitely high, not low.  🙂   After my embarrassment passed I started talking to his beautiful wife Junie.  I kick myself for not getting her autograph and picture too.  To be truthful, I do not watch much television, so I didn’t even know she was a celebrity, but I’m going to start watching Junie now.  She’s a ball full of smiling energy, and she showed me some truly impressive pictures of hunts she had been on, so I know “Just Junie” will be worth my time.

If you are in the Houston area and didn’t get to make it out to Texas Archery to meet and greet “Pigman” and Junie last night, or you just didn’t get enough of them, then your still in luck.  They will be at the Texas Trophy Hunters Extravaganza at NRG Center today (8/5/17) from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  That’s like a two…three in one!

Also, Texas Archery is giving you a chance to win a FREE bow.  If you purchase a Mathews Bow from them 8/4 – 8/6 you will automatically be entered into a drawing to win back the FULL price of the bow.  So, if you are in the market for a new bow, get on over to Texas Archery, their knowledgeable staff will help you pick out the bow that’s right for you.
